During the 1700's Frech Irish settlers named their new discovered settlemant after King George wife Queen Charlotte and that is how it got it's name Charlotte incorporated 1768 in honor of the queen.
Cincinnati - During 1820 citizens proud of their city which at the time was refer to Queen of the west
Cincinnati was not chartered as a town til 1802 and as a city 1819
Charlotte is the first Queen City and North Carolina was the First in Flight.
And ironically, the "First in Flight" moniker was due to 2 guys from Ohio who grew up not too far away from Cincinnati (in Dayton)!
c'mon now everybody knows cincinnati is the architecturally oldest, most urban, and influential of all the "queen cities". cincinnati is THE queen city of the west. the first and last. not charlotte. not buffalo.

dontcha just love propaganda, it becomes self-fulfilling after so many years.....
How did Cincinnati come to be known as the Queen City?
During the first forty years after its founding, Cincinnati experienced spectacular growth. By 1820, citizens, extremely proud of their city, were referring to it as The Queen City or The Queen of the West. On May 4, 1819, B. Cooke wrote in the Inquisitor and Cincinnati Advertiser, "The City is, indeed, justly styled the fair Queen of the West: distinquished for order, enterprise, public spirit, and liberality, she stands the wonder of an admiring world." In 1854, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote his poem, Catawba Wine, to memorialize the city's vineyards, especially those of Nicholas Longworth. The last stanza of the poem reads: "And this Song of the Vine,
This greeting of mine,
The winds and the birds shall deliver,
To the Queen of the West,
In her garlands dressed,
On the banks of the Beautiful River."
those are facts. its the first city in america built by americans, and the oldest west of the appalachian. you ever been to cincinnati?
Yeah, I've been there. It's an ok city. A good friend of mine lives there.
As far as your claims...
1) First city in America built by Americans: What does that even mean? Who built the others?
2) Oldest West of the Appalachians: Several cities are older. Detroit, MI. Frankfort, KY. A number of cities in California.
By the way, both the city of Charlotte and the nickname "The Queen City" being applied to Charlotte predate Cincinnati.
Cleveland is known as the City of Lights? Are you kidding?? When/how did that start?
