Interesting thread. I would definitely choose LA as my top pick if money were not a factor. The homes are immaculate, awesome career opportunities exist for the hungry and well connected, the weather can't be beat, and there is certain coolness/vibe about the place that I can't quite describe. The few times I've visited, I felt right at home and suits my personality. With more funds, I would settle in Beverly Hills indefinitely..

If money were absolutely no object then I'd move to Louisburg Square in Boston. I'm not saying it would have to be John Kerry's house, but I wouldn't mind that at all.

I would buy a nice descent house on a few acres in the country, maybe in the plains of Eastern New Mexico or West Texas
also an adobe house maybe in Las Cruces or Santa Fe,NM
along with a condo in NYC,Chicago,or LA.

Stay right where I'm at with a bit bigger home and better landscaping. Oh yeah, a heated indoor pool, personal trainer, and a pretty massuese. Also a membership at The Ridges Golf Course in Jonesborough, TN.

A house in MI's U.P. for summer, a beach home in Ft. Lauderdale for winter, and a vacation/weekend home in Santa Fe or the Hamptons.

I suppose I really shouldnt limit the question....if money were no object where would you live? Preferably answers within the states. Out of the states, I would pick Scotland though

If money were truly no object, I'd have enough land to keep other people away from me right in the town where I live. I'd still live in my trailer park, but I'd have no neighbors.

My main residence would be a top floor condo in midtown Manhattan. I would have a vacation home maybe somewhere in the Appalachians or rocky mountains-a place with a stream or lake nearby, heavily wooded, nearest neighbors would be a 5 minute drive away. Oh, and it would be a place near a ski-resort for the winter months. I would also have a small beach house in the Tidewater virginia area where I would also keep my yacht Wow, I'm getting excited just thinking about this!

I'd have a compound somewhere and train my para-military army to work as mercenaries and intimidate rivals. Maybe somewhere in the Carolinas... I'd call it Black Water. I think someone beat me to it, though.
