So what we have so far are areas of Charlotte, Columbia, Greenville, Jacksonville, Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads. Any other come to mind?

Absolutely! It's a shame that a significant faction of the right wing in Jax gladly panders to racism and bigotry. There are many well-meaning Republicans in this city that are appalled by a lot that has happened here.

you realize back in the day when majority of southerners were racist, they voted for progressives like FDR overwhelmingly.

Your premise is that there are no bigots and racists on the left.

I know it's not exactly east coast, but Mobile, AL is only 1 state away from the Atlantic. Besides that, I would say the Charlotte or Columbia suburbs.
