I'm sure this has been done 1,000 times, but let me just give a description of me, what I think I want to live in, and cities that I have in mind - then you can, hopefully, give me some other options.

27, m, single, work in construction and I have a dog. In my mind, I would love a city with outdoors (rock climbing, swimming holes, hiking, great scenery - preferably mountains, etc), good music scene, professional(or professional-ish) sports team in driving distance, moderate climate, and a place that just seems... fun? open-minded? young?
I'm not someone who spends my late nights at bars, but I do enjoy breweries and the occasional day-drinking outdoors.

One key factor in this decision is that I do NOT want to be a short drive from home (one of those quarter-life crisis' I keep hearing about?). Home for me is North Alabama.

That being said, I've had my eye on Denver. I would love a place like Chattanooga, but that's too close to home for me.

Along with Denver, places in Denver and California keep coming up, but either seem too large or too small... I'm probably being too picky.

Anyone visited places that fit this simultaneously vague and yet somehow strict description?

Thanks,

What about Portland Oregon? That fits most of your criteria. Biggest downfall is having only the Trailblazers, I guess you could drive to Eugene and watch Oregon Ducks football.

Or to Seattle to watch the Seahawks.
