I think its kinda funny so many people are listing New Hampshire, with it being one of the original 13 colonies and as much as it is in the national spotlight every 4 years you would think people would know something about it. but hey that's fine with me and I am sure most people in NH would like to keep it a secret.

I will say the closest state to me that I tend to forget about is definitely Rhode Island.

States further away would be the dakodas and Nebraska.

So yes, I agree that Delaware is quite often forgotten and not very well known--but we did give the world Joe Biden! Take that how you want!
Aging myself here, but George Carlin also did a bit with a fake game show. The name was butthole, jack off, scumbag (probably will get censored on here, and butthole was not the actual term used ). The fake contestants had to determine which one of these the guest was (some rich, corporate type), and the winner received an all expense paid trip to .....

DOVER, DELAWARE!!!

In my experience the least brought up states are Delaware, Nebraska, New Mexico, Idaho and North Dakota.

If I wanted to be snarky (and I do) I would say everything in NY that isn't NYC or Niagara. :P

Lots of people may not forget, but confuse stares like North Carolina/South Carolina, South Dakota/North Dakota, Iowa/Ohio/Idaho (and the previously mentioned VA/WV).
