It was. It humors me that it exists.

Also certain areas tend to be "farms" for certain Pokemon. Desert Breeze Park in Chandler for an example, you can find Dratini (a rare Dragon type) almost consistently. I've known people who go there and can find seven of them in one hour.

I know us users on C-D generally know our cities along with interesting landmarks and parks, but it's really cool how Pokemon Go's use of maps makes it so many others who normally wouldn't give a damn about a park on the other side of the metro actually knows about them and has a fun time going. Some of my friends who are very high level in the game and play much more than I do know almost every square inch of Tucson when they used to not know anything outside of the immediate U of A area. It's actually kind of exciting to be able to go with people to places out in town just to have fun, it's really cool that the game involves a large part of nostalgia for my generation along with the outdoors and a large community to make a great game.

I expect to see similar games to Pokemon Go in the future. The success of Pokemon Go (#1 mobile game ever btw, took down Candy Crush in one week alone) should start creating more AR games.

Probably for selfish reasons like me. I don't know any of the Pokemon past Gen III.

I mean if you're trying to get shot, lol sure. Actually teenagers have been shot by sitting in their car catching Pokemon and a neighbor thought he got robbed... The house owner was in the wrong here.

I also recommend East Saint Louis.

In addition to the games, the Pokemon has put out quite some intense anime recently (not referring to the main series). Just look at this:
