*Sorry lovecrowds. This was off topic. While I agree with the others, I see your point. The working poor may eventually get a few benefits, but housing isn't usually on the list. It's the same with older people who can't replace a job, don't have much in retirement savings, and are too young to collect Social Security.

Think of it this way, families who can afford regular housing don't qualify for subsidized housing. Only those families who are having a tough time of it do.

And there is subsidized housing for low income single people. You just have to look for it.
