I apologize I thought I said metro. Seems that most people on CD use the city itself and the metro area interchangeable. Just to clarify I mean the city/metro area not just population within city limits.

Nope, just curious to see what midsize city/metro others thought was the best bang for their buck. Seems like this forum is filled with so much talk of the large cities like NYC, Dallas/Houston, SF, LA, etc and then all of the trendy cities like Austin, Portland, Denver, etc I just wanted to see what people's general thoughts were on the less trendy areas like many of the ones that have already been listed.

I'd say Knoxville, TN and Omaha, NE. Good livability, low cost of living, and nice economies.

Columbus, Cleveland or Cincinnati. All three are very different but offer great cost living, amenities comparable to larger sized metros on the cheap. Every season possible.
