Where in United States does it start too become "too hot and humid" in the summer? I know northern states can experience hot temperatures and high humidity but not for a prolonged period of time. I am talking about heat and humidity that appears to "never end" in the summer.

So, I will say anything south of Interstate 40 is "too hot and humid" in the summer, at least east of the Rockies.
What about you?

East of the Rockies, Interstate 70.

West of the Rockies, nowhere gets humid, except occasionaly the Imperial&Coachella Valleys in July&August during "gulf surges".

As for hot west of the Rockies, anywhere below 4,000 ft south of Interstate 80 except west of the Coast Ranges of course

South of the trans-Canadian highway. Really, IMO, most of the eastern US gets too hot/humid during mid and late summer. Nantucket, Downeast Maine, top of Mt Washington aren't too bad.

I'd say my delineation would be anywhere that a majority of houses have air conditioning in them.

It's a broad generalization, but for my living preferences much of the eastern half of the US (except for New England and higher elevations in the Appalachians) is too hot and humid in the summer for my liking.

West of the Great Lakes, it gets too hot and humid at and below Interstate 80. East of the Great Lakes it's along and south of Interstate 70.
