You can see the Blue Ridge mountains from various spots in Greenville. You can actually seem them from as far out as Fairview Road in Simponsville which is the far east edge of the Greenville metro.
Is that case in Winston Salem outside of perhaps Pilot Mountain which isn't really 'the mountains'?
I'm more than happy to acknowledge Winston Salem is as close to mountains as Greenville is if that is the case. It seems like in the past I thought it was closer to the mountains and somebody told me on here that it really isn't that close.
The Nantahala River is pushing 2.5 hours from Greenville. There are def. mountains closer than that to Greenville.
As I said in that post, I think both Gville and WS are good places to live.
