And what's your point exactly? It doesn't take away from The Hill's greatness. The Hill consistently makes the top ten Little Italys in the country. Nice try to debunk it though. You obviously fail. The idea that you need a lot of Italians for a great Italian community is simply false.

I have to admit, I'm having a hard time with that last sentence. Are you saying a strong Italian community needs lots of Germans? Greeks? Irish?

The Italian community in St. Louis is paltry. I'm not sure how someone suggested that for a list of great Italian communities across the US.

If you've been to The Hill, you'd understand why it ranks as one of the great Italian neighborhoods of the US. It's a strong, cohesive, authentic urban Italian enclave that is increasingly rare outside of a handful of American cities.

You find fault with everything in St. Louis. Why don't you do us all a favor and leave?

No I'm saying the Italian neighborhood in St. Louis is very strong. To say The Hill isn't one of the greatest Italian communities in the US is a flat out lie. The Hill has not only made lists in the US it's made lists around the world. Maybe you should actually visit it instead of going off your preconceived notions and stereotypical views.

Nowhere in any of my posts have I said any such thing. I've never been there and have no opinion of it. I was merely commenting on the poster who said that Philadelphia's Little Italy is small, and then I commented as to how a neighborhood of relatively few Italians could be such a bastion of Italian culture. That being said, if The Hill is consistently in the top 10 lists for Italian communities, I'm sure it belongs there. Who am I to disagree?
