Larry the Cable Guy has said he went to college in GA. Which may or not explain his current 'accent'. I don't think people in Nebraska (where he's from) speak like that.

I guess I never thought of my accent as Southern, but I also grew up in PA and in northern WV where you can notice a difference, than ,say, Beckley,or Charleston. Funny, but I was in Houston three years ago visiting family and very few people seemed to have a Southern accent. But like Atlanta, many people are transplants there. I'm hoping to move to North or South Carolina myself!

Being Black from St. Louis people have told me that I have a Southern accent in Florida! But I'm usually associated with Nelly like "aw man you said thurr, he sounds just like Chingy". Strangely enough Blacks or people in general from South Florida do not think they have Southern accents or even think they are part of the South.....which always mind boggled me! But it is always crazy to here someone from Florida with a swamp accent say "man you have a country accent". Then I have met other people from the Midwest and Northeast who notice my accent, but dont think its Southern at all. One of my friends from Boston said he never even noticed my accent until I told him I was from St. Louis....which is crazy. But yeah Blacks from St. Louis, Chicago, Ohio, and Detroit all have Southern characteristics, but the biggest difference I've seen is that we usually pronounce in full. East Coast blacks are a different story.

I live in Easton, PA, which is on the state border for PA and NJ, and my area/town has some southern accents, or almost southern accents, and I think I have a slight accent too.
