I know we complain about traffic and rent, but it appears from what I've read and seen that a lot of metros across the US really are nicer than they were 10 or 20 or 40 years ago... DC, the rust belt, Omaha, Denver, LA...

Talking to long time Denver residents, they say that while Denver was cheaper and didn't have traffic back in the day, downtown was rough, polluted, and kind of dead. Likewise with other parts of the cities, and the nicer suburbs hadn't been built yet.

So, do you think US metros on the whole will continue to improve? Do you think the rate of improvement will increase in the future than what it's at now? Do you think that the decrease in nuisances (like crime) and increase in amenities will overcome the congestion and price increases that have happened and will happen?

Do you think that in 30 years we'll look back and be amazed at the positive changes?

Yes, urban densification is getting pretty epic in many areas.
