Here in West Virginia we highly respect our local cops, and you don't have to deal with BLM. There are also less of an issue with thugs, gangsters, and illegal alien gangs that you have in many other places.

Used to live in Maryland and most suburban areas are friendly toward cops, BUT the liberals dominate the state government and refuse to support the police. The media still won't report further how how Stephanie Rawlings Blake ordered the cops to stand down and give the rioters space to destroy and the unfair nature of the prosecutions done by the racist activist Marilyn Mosby.

NYPD Recruit
NYC isn't cheap.

What does that have to do with anything? There are over 30K NYPD police officers living/working in NYC seemingly without any major issue.

Also why do you even include Des Moines on that? Des Moines has a black population WAY higher than any of those cities, so even in the cities you include you are wrong.
Des Moines is only 10% black. That's nothing compared to where I'm from.

It's still higher than a lot of west coast cities and it is far more than any of the other cities you listed. That's all I was pointing out. Des Moines also has a moderately growing black population which most cities aren't. Not saying it's high end or even medium black population wise, it's just that there are far better examples for what the person was talking about.

Colorado Springs can't hire sworn officers fast enough. However, I hear it's due to low pay, heavy workloads and poor benefits. 16 homicides in the city so far this year. Not bad for a population of 450,000.

No Riots here to speak of, but about 450 identified gang members. Because of the cop shortage, they've shut down the gang unit and put them on patrol.

Also, can't afford (the department states) to set up motorcycle speed traps anymore. Put them on patrol.

What do people think of this list?

Top 25 Cities for Police Officers - PoliceLink

Edit: If there's any accuracy to the data in this list (also not sure how old this is), I think Austin and Seattle would be great choices comparing average starting salary of police officers to city average salary. With Texas cost of living, I'd give the edge to Austin.
