Well, the coastlines on the left or right side of our country are pretty long and include lots of cities and rural towns, etc.

The only real difference between the two is the left coast will be less humid and doesn't have hurricanes.

How specifically are you being specific? Both coasts are long and are quite varied.
L.A. is an entirely different place than say, San Francisco or Seattle, WA.
The original question is just silly.

In general though, i'd say that the west coast (the west in general) is quite a bit more friendly and the natural scenery of most of the west coast (again, the west in general) is stunning in a way that the east coast (and east of the Rockies) is not. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Friendliness: West coast! People are generally more chill

Safety: can't say

Cost of living: depends where exactly. I would think the East coast would have a higher number of affordable areas to live.

Employment opportunities: East coast easily, mainly due to NYC and DC.

Dating for single guys: can't say

Natural scenery: West coast. Not even close. The west coast US is unbelievably beautiful. Some of the most beautiful nature in the world, no doubt.

Weather: West coast

Nightlife: East coast, mainly due to NYC and Miami

History: East coast cities are much older. When the country started out it was JUST the east coast!

Architecture: East coast. I like older architecture.

Urban living: East coast, no contest. The only city on the west coast that can compete with east coast urbanity is SF. East coast has NYC, which is an automatic win, along with Boston, Philly, Baltomore, and DC.

Tourist attractions: Arguable. East coast has better city attractions (NYC, DC, Boston, Miami), but West coast has better nature attractions (Yosemite, Redwoods, etc)

Lifestyle: this really depends on the individual. Someone that wants a more urban, big city life would probably prefer the east coast. Someone that likes to hike and enjoy nature would without a doubt prefer the west coast. (I think SF is a great mix between the two btw)

Economy: East coast

Education: I'm going with East coast because of Ivy League

I love both coasts. I've lived on the east coast my whole life, but I definitely think I could be happy living on the west coast too. I love to visit the west coast. I would much rather live anywhere on either of these coasts than anywhere off the coast!
