I'm definitely a mountain person. I lived near the beach for a while and almost never went. Actually, it doesn't really bother me if I never go to the beach again. Sticky, sandy, salty, and hot. Yuck!

Can't say which one I love more as l love both with a passion and for different reasons. I lived near the ocean in Massachusetts for most of my life and now I live 3 miles away from the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. One thing I could never imagine myself doing is living somewhere without either one or the other. This summer I have a 2 week vacation booked for Cape Cod in July and a long weekend in August in Telluride, Colorado. So I guess I don't have to choose, I'll have my cake and eat it too!.
I loved living by the beach in San Diego and went all the time. Don't mind sand, the floorboards and trunk of my car was covered in it and I didn't really care. Like the smell of the salt air and the breeze. I like the humidity as well and the fact that the temperature generally doesn't plummet once the sun goes down like it can in the mountains. I guess the one thing that bugged me is how fast metal can corrode.
How about both? Somewhere like North Carolina would be nice.
