What are some cities and sections of cities with sizable Native American populations?

Buffalo and Syracuse on their West Sides and some in Syracuse's Valley neighborhood as well. Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Tucson, Seattle and some others likely have sections with relatively sizable Native American populations.

Minneapolis has a significant Native population, large enough that it has a Native neighborhood - the area of Phillips around Little Earth. Most seem to be from various Sioux bands (Dakota, Lakota, etc.) or Ojibwe. Growing up out east I never knew any Native Americans other than the 1/16th Cherokee variety, here I know a ton. When I moved here it was one of the things that made me realize I wasn't in the Northeast anymore

Wait, aren't you from Upstate NY? There are actually quite a few Native American reservations in parts of Upstate and you can find school districts with visible/decent to high Native American percentages(Salmon River, LaFayette, Salamanca, Silver Creek, Akron, Gowanda, Onondaga Central, Niagara-Wheatfield, Stockbridge Valley, Massena, etc). Most are Haudenosaunee(aka Iroquois) that are Onondaga, Oneida, Akwesasne(aka Mohawk), Seneca, Tuscarora and Cayuga. Some even live in some of the cities and select suburbs like Nedrow, which is just south of Syracuse and is about 10% Native American(mainly Onondaga). So, you can find places in the Northeast with high concentrations of Native Americans.

Here is a thread that is somewhat relevant to this topic: Native American culture in NY State

No prob, stands out to me cuz I live nearby. Online ref indicates Senecas make up only 17% of the population, but I'd have guessed ~50%. Probably a lot of mix though and in that case your mother must be Seneca in order to be considered Seneca.

Albuquerque has a 4.6% Native American population within the city limits and is bordered by reservations on three sides (Sandia, Isleta, and Laguna Pueblo reservations).

You won't find many cities with neighborhoods that are strictly Native American because it isn't government land. Most Native Americans in NY, NC, and OK are located on specific land in order to obtain benefits based on their tribe. Example: http://www.cherokee.org/Services.aspx

It was honestly a little depressing to see Salamanca which is riddled by poverty compared to neighboring Ellicottville and Olean which are stellar small towns. The land around Salamanca is gorgeous but it's a dying town with a casino. Whatever the Senecas are doing with their money, they aren't putting it into their town.
