And that's WINTERTIME. Imagine what the next 9 months going to be like.9 MONTHS.

Now you know why everyone and their uncle is moving to Arizona.
October in phoenix last year had 26 days of 90 degree heat
Winters ends a little later than Phoenicians like to admit

Richmond, VA ought to score pretty poorly; hot and muggy most of the year, but occasionally subject to heavy snow or, just as bad, an ice storm when a "nor-easter" comes up the coast.

No. Masochists live places where it snows and rains and gets cold.
However, I'm happy in LA. I wish it was a little warmer, but its pretty good considering most alternatives.

I grew up by LAX on the coast. Was always too cool or boring for my taste. I like the change of seasons. Although LA doesn't get it like most of the rest of the country, the SFV and DTLA vary more between seasons than the coast and I always liked that. DTLA and the SFV get warmer in summer and cooler in winter than the coast and I prefer that.

Very true. I still consider October to be summer, as its over 100 degrees in early October and 90's most of the month.
