Some of this is simply structural. Nevada for instances is pretty much one big city and one small city and not much else. If compared to cities it is in the middle third. If compared to states it looks much worse. But in reality it is simply quite average...just highly urban. And interestingly enough if you dig down a bit the high crime areas of NV are driven by drugs rather than race. In fact some high crime areas appear quite nice...not remotely ghetto...and some of the "ghetto" area are relatively low in crime.

So there are all sorts of flavors...

Missouri keeps making their gun laws more and more lax. It hasn't been helping St. Louis or Kansas City. St. Louis had 159 murders last year and Kansas City had 109.

Well, that is something you should look up. I asked the question to get YOU thinking about things. I have to think about this stuff.

Baltimore is a crazy city. It's full of underclass. Philadelphia, believe it or not, has seen its murder rate drop. I suspect there is a large Black underclass in Philly, but a sizable middle class too. And the SEPTA buses likely have some unhappy persons of all ethnicities on them. I've ridden buses and I see more impoverished persons on the buses than the trains. DC, well, I know someone who moved there. According to him, alot of people in DC seemed stressed out, unhappy, and cold, of all ethnicities.

I think that the unhappy look you notice is not just a "Black issue". I think it's an East Coast issue. Alot of people have mentioned that alot of East Coast cities can stress people out. Competitive, fast-paced, expensive.

Maryland has very strict gun laws. Baltimore is up there with St. Louis in terms of murder rates. Maryland itself has a high murder rate, a little worse than Missouri.

Kansas has lax gun laws. Murder rate is 1/2 that of Missouri. Texas has lax guns laws too. It's Black population is about the same as Missouri's in terms of percentage. It has far more Hispanics than Missouri as well.

Okay, so I want you to answer a question. Why does the "Black Underclass" have such higher murder rates than any other ethnicity in the US?

Like I said, "underclass". Separate underclass from the rest of the Black population, murder rate drops dramatically. Same with any other ethnicity. "Black underclass" is not an ethnicity. It is a subculture within the Black population. Where does most murders within any ethnicity come from? The underclass.

The question is why does the Black population have a higher percentage of its population in the underclass compared to other groups?

88% of murders in 2015 were committed by men. Why doesn't anyone ever argue that something is wrong with American men culturally?

Let's break it down further. A majority of male-related murders are committed by single men. I suspect it is the "nothing left to lose" mentality.

That is the question, and why I brought up poverty. Why does the black population have such a larger percentage in the underclass? Just wondering what your thoughts are on that.
