I think someone else's suggestion of Kentucky would be perfect for you. Not too far from relatives, and the kind of climate and cost of living you want, and plenty of other homeschoolers. Plus it would be easy for you to take some day trips from Madison to much of Kentucky for job interviews and looking for housing.

Why don't you start looking at the Kentucky state jobsite: https://focuscareer.ky.gov/careerexp...rchjobpostings

Another option would be to look for jobs in the Southern Ohio - Cincinnati area. Here's the state site to find jobs in Ohio: ODJFS Online | Office of Workforce Development

After exploring these sites, apply for some jobs that interest you, take some interview trips and see if you like the area, and when you get a job offer make sure to consider whether or not your husband can find employment in that area too.

Have fun and good luck!
