I like the S. Wells area of Reno - the grid plan, tight density, older lampposts, and signs for businesses in Spanish remind me of the SW side of Chicago, where I'm from.

The Old Southwest/Newlands Manor neighborhood reminds me of the nicer NW/SW neighborhoods (Edison Park, Sauganash, Beverly) or Oak Park/River Forest.

I wish the metro had more walkable, interesting areas like these and less homogeneous sprawl.
