What's the best university in the south? I know Vanderbilt and Duke usually top lists but what's your opinion? You can pick more than 1 if you want, I know the south is a huge region.
The South: Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North/South Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia.
We all know the best unis in the north (ivy league) and the Midwest got powerhouses like u of Chicago, Notre dame, Xavier, northwestern, Washington, u of Michigan, etc. And so does the west with the Cali uni system/all those other prestigious unis in the state.
But what about the south? I know Vanderbilt and Duke usually top lists but what's your opinion? You can pick more than 1 if you want, I understand the south is a huge region.

Xavier in Cincinnati is a powerhouse in the Midwest?
For the south besides Vandy and Duke, Emory and Rice are quite prestigious and when it comes to public schools UT-Austin and UNC-Chapel Hill are great schools as well.
duke is no big deal at the undergrad level, and only has like 6500 undergrads. it is also very expensive, as is Vanderbilt. most kids don't go to private colleges. only reason they are ranked so high is they aren't required to take in state students so they can be more selective.
i would roll with Clemson looking at academics, campus, location, weather, cost, sports, cost of living, and other factors.
engineers from G Tech and Texas AM getting paid a lot more on average than liberal arts majors from UNC and W/M. and engineering is more challening for most people due to the math and science. i do not undnerstand how you could mock me for my statement so I would pose your snarky statement to you. what are you on

I'd add Tulane in New Orleans as well, though at a tier below the institutions mentioned above.
