Here's an interesting thread to a CNN article that lists the Top Ten worst states for job hunting. Most of it appears to be tied to the state's unemployment rate. No suprise that Michigan tops the list. Although I AM a bit suprised that Nevada made the list -- it's been such a growth state these last few years. Also, I would have thought Oregon would have made the list since there seem to be way more people trying to make a living there than there are jobs.

I was surprised by South Carolina, I guess because I keep hearing how glorious it supposedly is in Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville.

I wasn't surprised at most of the others, particularly those states surrounding Tennessee (Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi).

Anyway, for those who can't access the above site (it took me a couple of tries) here's what CNN says are the worst states for job hunting:

1. Michigan
2. Mississippi
3. South Carolina
4. Alaska
5. California
6. DC
7. Ohio
8. Arkansas
9. Nevada
10. Kentucky

I was also surprised to see that Government is the largest employer in Mississippi.
