For Washington...I think it's probably the 139 miles between Partlow in Spotsylvania country, VA to Emmitsburg in Frederick county, MD.

Well looking at it again, and just MSA, going from Harvard, IL to Remington, IN is about 40 miles longer than what I initially stated.

It's 167 miles.

57 miles E-W for Harrisburg, PA (Shippensburg to the far end of Hershey, almost Palmyra). No idea why Lebanon County isn't the the MSA.l though, it used to be. I've always thought of Harrisburg as Carlisle to Lebanon.

In the Richmond MSA from the town of Port Royal, VA in Caroline County to Wakefield, VA is roughly 110 miles. Port Royal is 20 mins from the MD border/Eastern Shore on Rt. 301 and is also the place federal troops tracked down and shot John Wilkes Booth after he assassinated Lincoln.

As a related aside, if you're traveling west from Richmond on I-64 to the far Goochland County suburbs like Hadensville, which has a popular drive-in movie theater, you first end up passing through a portion of the Charlottesville MSA at Louisa County before re-entering the Richmond MSA to get your destination.

Tampa's MSA and CSA boundaries I'm not sure have been fully properly established, but, going from Wikipedia, from Spring Hill (northernmost MSA Point) to Plant City (easternmost MSA point), it would be 64 miles and 1:12. For CSA (8 county GREATER) on the other hand, it would stretch from Nokomis to Yankeetown and would be 160 miles, and 2:38 . Now, I don't ever see Tampa's CSA in official lists, and I think it's MSA perhaps undershoots it's size. But, if Tampa/TB ever wanted to be big time booster-ific, if they went by this map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer...6342226558&z=8, then Tampa Bay's CSA would be right next to the likes of Montreal and Seattle.

I used to live in Orlando, and while the CSA includes portions of Polk, Brevard and Volusia, the MSA only stretches North to South from Poinciana to Lady Lake for 76 miles or 1:27

My hometown of Cleveland's MSA boundaries stretch from Lodi (far Medina county) to Madison (far Lake County) for all of 83 miles and 1:20. However, it's worth noting that Akron very much feels like a part of the Greater Cleveland area (almost a Dallas-Fort Worth type relationship though perhaps on a smaller scale).
