I was thinking about how long of an MSA Miami is since it's hemmed in by the Everglades. Homestead, FL, at the bottom of the Miami MSA, is 121 miles away from Jupiter, FL. Pike County, PA, which is considered a part of the NYC MSA, is 216 miles from Montauk, NY.

What is the longest Point A to Point B distance that can be driven in your MSA?

For the Delaware Valley MSA (Greater Philadelphia), not including random uninhabited roads but actual municipalities, I calculated about 115 miles from Smyrna, DE (New Castle County side) to Riegelsville, PA (Bucks County).

For Chicago

Harvard, Illinois to Michigan City, Indiana is around the furthest at 130 miles.

That's in the CSA--hate to nitpick, but the OP said MSA.

The longest distance driving in the Boston MSA as far as I can tell is from Fairhaven Ma to Sanbornville NH a distance of 158 miles according to google maps.

The Atlanta MSA sprawls across 8,300 square miles and 28 counties -- an area roughly the size of Massachussets.

Greatest distances (give or take) are 147 miles N-S and 109 miles E-W.

For Detroit MSA:

Starting from Silverwood, MI going to the Huron River near Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course near Rockwood is 108 miles.

I guess if you wanted to get off the beaten path, the corner of Livingston Co is about 130 miles from the corner of St. Clair Co.

For LA, it's 131 miles from San Clemente to Lancaster. For the Inland Empire, it's 305 miles from Searles Valley to Blythe, but that's only because San Bernardino and Riverside Counties are huge.

Appropriately for an MSA that centers on the smallest state in the country, the longest distance in the Providence MSA isn't very far. Fairhaven, Massachusetts, to Charlestown, Rhode Island, is about 60 miles.

EDIT: Ha, right after posting, I noticed this:

But as I just suggested, Fairhaven is in the Providence MSA, not the Boston MSA. The Boston MSA starts the next town over, in Mattapoisett.

EDIT 2: Fairhaven to Hopkinton, Rhode Island, is longer: 66.6 miles.

For Seattle MSA it would be from DuPont, WA in the south, to Arlington, WA in the north, a driving distance of 95.7 mi.

If you include the CSA than it would probably be from Shelton, WA to Anacortes, WA, a driving distance of 162 mi, though if you take the ferry (it will take longer) it goes down to 117 mi.
