Off the top of my head

-New York (New York County, Queens County, Richmond County, Kings County and Bronx County) each of its five counties contiguous with its five boroughs

-Columbus (Franklin, Delaware, Fairfield counties)
Columbus is centered in Franklin County (1.2 million) but due to annexation and a land area of over 200 sq miles the city extends into neighboring suburban counties.

-Atlanta (Fulton and Dekalb)

-Chicago (Cook and DuPage)
