I will be having a road trip to the Twin Cities at the end of January. I will be driving from Kansas City to Fargo then down to the Twin Cities.

What are roadside attractions you would recommend for me to see that is not too far from the interstate? I know most of it is in the Great Plains so I don't expect to see much.

Here is what I have so far:

Kansas City, MO
1) Country Club Plaza
2) Truman Library in Independence, MO
3) Maybe try one of KC's BBQ restaurants.

St. Joseph, MO
I don't see anything other than the Pony Express Museum.

Sioux City, IA
I don't see anything interesting so I will pass through.

Omaha, NE
1) Omaha Steakhouse?
I don't see anything else interesting so I will drive through Downtown for the view of Omaha skyline.

Sioux Falls, SD
1) Falls Park
2) SculptureWalk

Fargo, ND
What is in Fargo?

On the way to the Twin Cities:
Phelps Mill in Underwood, MN near Fergus Falls

On Google maps, type in the name of the cities, one at a time for each search, look for the Interstate, and then keep zooming in on the map. The more you zoom in, the more restaurants, hotels and attractions will appear on the map. Then, go to Trip Advisor and find out what people have to say about those attractions in their reviews.

Do you live in KC? Why are you making this trip? How long do you have? What do you like?
Kansas City:
1. National Frontier Trails Museum (Independence, Start of the Oregon Trail)
2. National World War I Museum
3. For BBQ, Arthur Bryant's. Right Next Door is Negro League Baseball Museum & American Jazz Museum (1 Admission)

5. Cliff Drive
6. Hallmark Visitor's Center
7. Boulevard Brewing Company
8. College Basketball Experience
There's plenty to see in KC, but until I know more specifics, that's a good start.

St. Joseph:
1. Jesse James Home Museum

Along Way:
-Indian Cave State Park
-Brickyard Hill Natural Area
-Waubonsie State Park
(Underrated scenery in the Missouri River Valley)
-Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center

Omaha (Omaha!):
1. Warren Buffett House
2. Lewis and Clark NHT HQ Visitor Center/Museum
3. Mormon Trail Center @ Winter Quarters
4. Henry Doorly Zoo (Top 10 in World/Largest Indoor Rainforest)
5. Old Market (Downtown)
6. TD Ameritrade Park (CWS)
7. Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge

Council Bluffs:
1. Union Pacific Railroad Museum
2. Harrah's Casino

-Loess Hills State Forest (most worthwhile nature stop)

Sioux City
1. Hard Rock Café/Casino

Sioux Falls
1. Falls Park
2. St. Joseph Cathedral
3. Downtown

-Pipestone National Monument
-Sheyenne National Grassland
-Blue Mounds State Park

Fargo
1. North Dakota State University
2. Roger Maris Museum
3. Downtown Fargo (The Fargo Theater Sign is iconic for some reason, I belive the movie "Fargo"?)
https://www.fargomonthly.com/lifesty...owntown-fargo/ This List

Life is short. Take the 2 hr. long cut up to Lake Itasca to see the Headwaters of the Mississippi, Frozen Over.

Minneapolis has plenty to do that I won't list here for now.
