In North Carolina, a probation/parole officer job will likely pay more than 30K.

Jacksonville should be alright. Seems to meet your requirements while probably having the lowest COL. Indy and OKC might be about the same as well.

If you want guns, adult clubs, art, and museums, New Orleans could fit you. You could afford areas like Gentilly or even Metairie.

I have a BA and will likely earn $30,000 to $36,000 in a new city. I want to work as a Probation/parole officer.

I'm looking for a medium to large city with amenities, low to moderate levels of burglary, located in a gun friendly state, good job market and a reasonable cost of living.

Should I try to make it in Atlanta or should I try another city?

Potential cities: Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville, Oklahoma City, Raleigh, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Tampa and Nashville?

Any recommendations for me and other millennials?
Demcad, I follow you on YouTube. So you are Finally looking to move away from KY? I believe TX or OK are your states. GA is gun friendly but since you are looking for a medium city. maybe Oklahoma City or Austin. Louisville is a nice city as well.

Louisville is like moving away from KY....keep that in mind lol.

Demoed may actually like some of Louisville's very affordable S. Indiana suburbs....the renaissance in dt New Albany and Jeffersonville is nothing short of astonishing....and it is beyonddddd affordable.

I guess I want to know which city you would recommend?

Tampa
Louisville
Nashville
Indianapolis
Raleigh
Charlotte
Jacksonville

I visited Indianapolis for a week and loved it.
PA isn't a blue state these days - it voted for Trump and Republicans dominate the legislature. The current political climate doesn't favor the enactment of new gun control laws.
