PA on the whole has many examples of early highways that become outdated

There should be food trucks at the 76/202 junction. I've sat there for over an hour and only moved a few car lengths.

Richmond, Virginia. Every time I've taken a road trip down South with people we always plan to leave at a certain time where we won't be around Richmond or DC around rush hour so we don't get caught up in the mess.

Honolulu I've never really thought about as having traffic problems. I've only visited once but I was ten. Is there any particular reason for it?

Richmond I knew about it just because like another poster said driving down south from NJ/NYC D.C. and Richmond are two traffic nightmare spots.

Try this on for size: Madison is a city of approximately 230K people, maybe 350K in the entire urbanized area, and 15 miles across on its longest axis. Getting across that 15mile axis can take up to an hour at rush hour.

It's very dense and essentially only has one freeway that traverses the metro area.

I think the problem here is the thought that it can take up to an hour. Yes, that would be annoying, but it can happen anywhere because of accidents or events. The worst thing is the typical jam that is bad almost daily. You can get an idea of it using google maps with the traffic filter, switch from live traffic to typical and you can filter for a day or week and time. I've never been to Wisconsin, so i can't say from experience, but from the google info the typcial traffic doesn't look all that unusual at rush hour.

Portland, Oregon is very congested. The previous mayor was a big fan of trimming road size in the hopes that commuters would decide to shop in Portland during their longer drive to the suburbs.
