I'm surprised that no one has listed NEW YORK. Named after York, England. Or the state of NEW JERSEY. Named after the Jersey Islands off the coast of Normandy.

Or pretty much anything with NEW before it.

There is an Ontario, California and a Toronto, Kansas. The Toronto (Canadian) Star used to run ads saying that practically nobody in Toronto read the Star.

There is also Greece, New York. This was evidently founded at the time of the Greek war for independence from Turkey, and reflected the sentiment on the part of the population for the Greek side.

Also, in Ontario, a town named Paris. It is said that Paris is just a short drive from London (Ontario).

Wow, I realized some of those but not all of them.

Where is the other Bayonne besides Jersey?

The only thing similar I can think of not on this list if the town of Georgia, NJ. I find that stupid to name a town in one state after another state.

Ohio has both a Dublin (Western suburb of Columbus and Wendy's corporate HQ) Albany, OH is a small town SW of Athens in SE Ohio. There's also a New Albany near Columbus, as well. There's a Vandalia in IL, IN AND OH (and probably other states I'm unaware of, too)
