What, in your opinion, are the U.S.'s most cosmopolitan cities? By cosmopolitan cities I do not necessarily mean those with a high immigrant population (though that could help), but those where the average, local resident has "cosmopolitan" or "global" tastes in food, music, etc. For example, a place where it wouldn't be unusual for a local-born person to listen to Italian rock or Arabic dance, or where your average person would have broad food tastes, with Ethiopian, Indian, etc. food not seen as unusual at all.

San Francisco, Los Angeles & New York.

Cosmopolitan is their middle names.

Pretty much true.
Don't forget Houston and Miami.

18Montclair is right.

I think I would add Miami, SD, Seattle, and maybe Chicago, but not Houston.

NYC, L.A., Chicago, San Fran. Maybe Miami and Houston, too.

Just another UNINFORMED Houston hater! I would delete Seattle, the cosmopolitan cities in the US are NYC, Chicago, LA, SF, Washington, Houston, Boston, Philly and a tie between Dallas and Miami! In that order

Houston is cosmopolitan, but not as much as Seattle.

Club-goers and indie scenesters don't make a place cosmopolitan. Diversity in many fields and an educated populace make for a cosmopolitan environment. That's more than the places you see on television and in movies, people.

Maybe my viewpoint is skewed by living in California, where even some towns can be classified as such.
