I know for practicality jobs and many other things are major factors. But if geographical landscape was the only criteria, maybe think of it as a vacation home, what would you select?

Feel free to say why and any particular city.

I would choose a big ranch in the Texas Hill Country if money was no object.

Near the ocean + In a big city = A big city by the ocean. Which is where I'm living now!

There's no way I'd have just one home.

One old home in New Orleans and a small house on the beach or near the beach in some Caribbean country.

I would chose the countryside as long as it was on a lake; otherwise, near the beach.

Hey sorry about missing that one. As soon as I posted the thread I realized I left it out and went to edit, but it was too late. Lake house is a great choice

A penthouse in Manhattan for when I feel like getting away from London and Tokyo.

There's one place that combines what's ideal for me and that is mountains, desert and ocean. That place is unfortunately south of the border in Cabo San Lucas. I take it areas east of the San Diego metro area come close to that. I voted for ocean since its the major criteria for me
