What cities and metro areas in the US fit these criteria?

1) Low cost of living.

2) A good job market for tech jobs (esp in Data Science) that pay 100K or higher a year.

3) Rarely snows. An inch or two every once in a while in the winter is alright. But regular heavy snowfalls or snow that stays on the ground for many weeks is an absolute deal breaker.

Assume everything else is unimportant.

You will have to compromise on one. Most warm places either have low wages (South) or high COL (California, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Miami)

Austin, Raleigh/Durham, DFW, Atlanta, and Houston will come closest.

Thanks.. My original list was just Austin and DFW but thanks for the additional suggestions.

Also, how's Portland? I know they had that big snowstorm earlier this year but as long as that's not a regular yearly occurrence, I think I can tolerate the weather there.

Phoenix has a high cost of living? You're kidding, right?

Phoenix & Vegas are not high COL. Atlanta, DFW, Phoenix, & Houston are probably the best combination of good incomes, low COL and warm.

What are you talking about? Phoenix should not be lumped together with California and Miami...and Vegas COL is about 8900 more than Phoenix.

Atlanta area has a lot of tech jobs and many with significant salaries. COL is higher than much of the south but it beats areas like DC, Seattle, San Francisco, etc.

Phoenix is more expensive than the National Average, if that is the baseline we are using
