Here's the scenario:

You and your friend (guys) are about to embark on a business venture. You've been talking about it for the past year but now every thing has fallen your way and the time has come to kick it off.

You want to fly out of town to escape the monotony of your every day life and discuss initial planning , incorporation, and implementation of the business.

You want a city that makes you feel alive. Where there are plenty of ppl doing big things. Business men and women in suits walking around. Tons of Cafe's and lounges. Free wifi, etc. Diverse too (we are black and a lot of our target market will be too so it will be nice to be around diversity). Then at night time, the city stays alive. Even on the weekdays. Lounges, bars, clubs, attractive approachable women etc.

What city should we travel to?

We are in Dallas so that's out. Don't really care for Atl either.

I was initially thinking NYC, DC. What else is out there(In the US)?

NYC could be a tad overwhelming and while you're talking planning, incorporation and implementation of a business living somewhere less frenetic (yet active), is probably your best bet unless you're somehow hoping to become distracted from the business at hand. Given your desire for diversity and active day/night DC in my opinion would be a good option without feeling like you're submersed too deeply.

NYC, DC, Chicago SF.

To me this question is essentially what are the truly urban big cities in the US. LA, Boston and Philly also work but for me they are #5-7 so no need to go down that far. One of the top 4 should suit you. Good luck with your business!

I live in NYC but I don't think it would fit what you're looking for. The vibe in the streets here is very dog eat dog survival and stressed out. What about Kansas City? I was just reading about it and it seeems like it's vibrant, growing, and stimulating for new ideas! I think it would work for you.
