It's certainly remote, being on an island (sea and air access only). But it has a bit of historical interest, restaurants, etc. And beautiful scenery.

Most remote place was 60 miles on a dirt road to the nearest bar in Montana. The Ranger Station was in Idaho.

I don't have specific towns in mind, but no more than 100 miles from a major metro area and the town has at least 10k but less than 30k people.
