Gotta be the Mag Mile. Although, I wouldn't have thought of comparing it with NYC's midtown. I would think that would be more comparable with the Loop. Mag Mile seems more similar to 5th Ave. or Madison Ave. Here's a good one: Grant/Millennium Park vs. Central Park!

Ummm, Midtown Manhattan is a full-blown area, the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Avenue) is just one street.

Also, the Miracle Mile (Wilshire Blvd) is in Los Angeles, *not* Detroit.

^ haha.

I voted for the Mag Mile, cause i'm biased, and cause I just love how it's so clean, done up well, and overflowing with flowers and plants and trees in the summer.

The Vegas Strip is good for wasted fun, but there's no class or anything. It's just in your face. I still have fun there, what little I remember

LOL or in the doorway of the 6 train. Or on top of the stairs leading into a station. Or on an escalator (remember kids, stand right, walk left).

Tourists are great for the city. I'm glad they're here, but if you need to stop and pull out a giant map, please move off to the SIDE of the sidewalk/hallway/escalator/etc so people can still move about around you. And NEVER stop on the stairs!!! Oh, and when you get to the top of an escalator (or the bottom for that matter), don't just stop and stand there. You have to keep moving because hundreds more people are being discharged behind you. Stopping results in a piling of bodies (I've seen it with me own two eyes!).

On to the topic. Of the areas listed, I've only been to Midtown NYC (I'm here everyday), Midtown Atlanta, Wilshire Blvd, Boston's South End. I'd love to see Chicago's Mag Mile. It looks great in photos. Of the ones I've been to, Midtown NYC is my favorite, just because it's such a large area that includes so many things. Koreatown, Curry Hill, Grand Central, Bryant Park, Hell's Kitchen, Tudor City. I love those places (though I hate Times Sq, Rock. Ctr., MSG). Wilshire Blvd was probably the least impressive to me. Midtown Atlanta is nice, and Boston's South End is great, but I don't see how it fits in with the others... Maybe the Prudential Center area is a better comparison?

I didn't know Miami had a gold coast. I thought Chicago did. I thought Miami was part of the Gold Coast region...that's a large area...to my knowledge Detroit doesn't have a Miracle Mile either but I could definitely be wrong.

These aren't really direct comparisons, but if it comes to Midtown v. Mag Mile, I say neither. Give me the Lower East Side, or Greenpoint. Or Andersonville, or Wicker Park.

Those tourist downtown areas have some great architecture, but other than that I don't really care for them.
