I'm glad to see this thread continue. Yes, I did mention in my OP that neighboring States are excluded for obvious reasons.

Update: Seeing a lot of not only Texas in Washington, but North Dakota and Montana.

Excluding adjacent states, it's Maryland and Virginia, by far.

I may have already posted on this thread long ago; I can't remember.

For Oklahoma I'd say:

From Most Prevalent to Least Prevalent:
Texas
Arkansas
Tie between Kansas & Missouri
Louisiana
Mississippi
Illinois
Nebraska
Iowa
Tennessee
New Mexico
California

In the Charleston area, we see plates from most states in the USA, and Canadian plates as well. Besides SC (of course), here are the most frequent.

1. North Carolina
2. Georgia (have seen a large portion of the 159 county plates)
3. Ohio (lots of beach vacationers)
4. Florida
5. Kentucky
6. Tennessee
7. New Jersey
8. Virginia
9. New York
10. Pennsylvania

Those are the states I notice the most. I see a surprising number of Iowa and Mississippi plates, and there are a decent number of Ontario and Quebec tags, especially in the winter.

Erie, PA area: Most common non-border states that I see are Kentucky (odd) and Illinois. Iowa crops up fairly often, too.

I see Ohio and NY plates all of the time. NJ plates are also fairly common here even though it's quite a distance from NJ here

North Carolina. People who live near the state line come to Danville for basics like shopping, etc. since the area of North Carolina between the VA state line and the I-40/I-85 corridor is no-man's-land, with the exception of Reidsville on US-29 between Danville and Greensboro.

In north central AZ (non-neighboring states):

Texas
Colorado (this can be debated)
Washington
Oregon
Wyoming
Idaho
Montana
Nebraska
