Here in NC, I see NY plates every. single. day. Second and third most common are probably MA and OH.

California borders Arizona....the OP was asking for states that do not border your state.

For my part of Kansas, there are a lot of Texas plates, followed by California, Florida, Iowa, and Illinois in no particular order.

In FL during season(October to April) I see all the Northeast and Midwestern state plates daily: with NY, NJ, and Minnesota leading the way and many Ontario and Quebec plates thrown into the mix too.

I see tons of New York and California plates. Also Florida and Georgia (Atlanta metro).

This is my take as well, but I'm seeing more Florida plates than usual over the past few months.

I'd say FL plates are way way way ahead of MA and OH being spotted in NC. I think FL has even beat out NY plates in the last few years. This is at least the case in the Triangle area....and DEFINITELY in the mountains.

In southern Ontario I see New York latest the most by far.

Second most is Michigan.
