New Jersey is the Garden State
Tourism slogan is "Come See for Yourself" (GAG ME!)
I like alternatives such as:
New Jersey: Come SMELL for Yourself
New Jersey: You Gotta Problem Widdat?
New Jersey: Hurry, we're almost full!!!
New Jersey: What happens here stays in a landfill.
New Jersey: One state, under indictment
New Jersey: We don't pump our gas, we pump our fists (guido fist pump, anyone?).
New Jersey: Which exit?? F--- you, that's which exit!!
New Jersey: Save water. Drink wooder! (more for the South Jersey folks)
Folks, If you could change the slogan for the state you live in, what would it be? Please post existing slogan then put the new slogan as well as the state name. Be creative!
Thanks,
Example
Wisconsin
"The Badger State"-this is the current
New one-Where waters meet, and people greet? Just an example.
I know most people say Wisconsin is the dairy state.
Alabama. Now making progress without the Democrats in charge.
Virginia: "Where Washington Elites and Hillbillies Meet"
Louisiana: "Eat, Drink & Be Corrupt As Hell"
Florida: "The Most Expensive Swamp On Earth"
Ohio: "Thank God Detroit Is In Michigan"
Indiana: "Cornfields Are Awesome. No, Really."
LMBO!
I love the WI motto. LMBO
About AZ's though... other than some relocatees/retirees in AZ, theres nothing in common with Chicago whatsoever. AZs motto was always "but its a dry heat".

At one time it was estimated that about 1/3rd of Maricopa County's population were transplants from the Chicago area. That's where the "New Chicago" concept comes from.

I agree with K-Luv and also will say that having been born/raised in NJ I'd have to say that most of those are perpetuated stereotypes that NJ seems to have gotten away from over the years, except in perhaps the northeast part of the state around places like Jersey City...I won't argue with that
Although I do agree with the references to corruption and the exit part, lol that cracks me up when my friend from there still refers to everything as an exit! I don't think in all my time living there I referred much to exit numbers as much as just the actual towns etc.
MN's original nickname is "L'Etoile du Nord", which means "Star of the North". It was coined before the invention of marketing, and is on the state flag. Kinda classy, I think.
"The Mount Rushmore State"... because that's all we really have going for us.
