Huge in Texas. BTW, I was shocked when an all star team from Georgia beat an all star team from Texas.

Georgia is actually pretty good in terms of its HS Football as well.

You can compare teams across the country based upon computer info and see how they are rated within each state or nationally. Same for leagues as well.

They are. Per capita, they rate very high. I was shocked at how handily they won, but there are a million factors.
