Hi all,
It's home to several large cities, including Newport, which is famed for sailing and Gilded Age mansions, such as The Breakers.

Sadly I have to agree. I have been there, it's typical up north New England but it is seriously overshadowed by its big brother to the north(Massachusetts). Most of think of Ma, Me or Vt or NHL when we think of New England, not Rhode Island. Blame John Adams, Sam Adams and John Hancock, blame those colonists for starting the revolution at Lexington and Concord, blame the pilgrims and puritans, blame that cheers TV show, heck blame Tom Brady and the Patriots too but Massachusetts has always been a dominating presence in the north, especially New England. Sorry little Rhode Island no offense

When I visit back home, and I have a craving for Italian, I head to Federal Hill in Providence, it's my favorite Little Italy in the US. Though Boston's North End is still great, Federal Hill captures that old school Italian ambiance a bit more.

Rhode Island has some of the best beaches in New England and the warmest salt water temps in the summer. Block Island has a lot of the same beauty and attraction as Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket, without having to deal with the large crowds and expense.

I will say, the Rhode Island Accent is something else. It's like the cast of the Departed meets Linda from Cawfee Tawk.

Honestly, nothing. Barely even Family Guy since Quahog isnt real and they keep RI ambiguous. I think of it being the size of some counites and very dense. Thats about it. And New England.

Good call. I am embarrassed this didn't come to mind especially considering I have read his biography and just about everything he wrote.
