Culture shock is someone moving from the east coast to the Southwest ( Phoenix area) and finding a place where all the different racial variety genuinely getting along.
I've lived in the Phoenix Metro for the past 20 years and never ever heard of Police brutality, never has a woman clutched her purse or locked her car doors on approach of a AA.
Walking in stores you're not looked at with suspicion.
No side of town where all one race live.
Absolute beautiful women who wait anticipatory for every breath that comes out of a man's mouth.
You can always tell a newbie in the Valley of the Sun by the way walk and act.
In their old local ,you had to act tough or appear tough so you won't get harassed...you see that same person 6 months later and all the pimp walking and gangster apparel is gone.
People from big cities know exactly what I'm talking about!

Not necessarily true. I'm a huge fan of Phoenix but it certainly has segregation along race and class lines. In Central/North Scottsdale I don't think I saw any Hispanic people despite them making up a huge portion of the metro.
