Very cool map. Clear lull in immigration during the Asiatic Barred Zone and after the Immigration Act of 1924. Huge shift towards Central America and Asia after removal of quotas in the 60's.

What a great site.

It surprising how few South Americans generally come to the US, on the contrary central Americans and Mexicans have been numerous, as well as Germans, Irish and Italians!

Quite a few come to New York and New Jersey.

You see a lot of South Americans on the East.

Colombians, Venezuelans, Guyanese, Brazilians, Ecuadorians and Peruvians. Especially Colombians...

Not really given the general stability of South American countries. Outside of Colombia's drug war years, Venezuela's oppressive dictatorship and Brazil's economic issues (and crime) there generally hasn't been the need for residents of varying countries to immigrate here.
