Baltimore definitely. I some out of town guest visit, we drove to DC ( NOT my choice), and walked around all day just seeing a some monuments. We did more in Baltimore is less time on a Sunday, and less walking than we could in DC, and had more fun doing it.

That's kind of underselling DC. Choosing the monuments as the sole reason for the trip excluded a great deal of other things you could have accomplished instead.

That's what they wanted to see. They get there and realize that the White House and monuments aren't as close together as they appear on TV. I'm not from DC, and they didn't want to do museums, so we just did a lot of walking.

Louisville, Kentucky.

If you enjoy whiskey & bourbon, there is absolutely no better place. Southern Hospitality is all around. The food is outstanding, and Louisville has been recognized as an "up & coming" food meca.

You also have the Louisville Slugger Museum, Louisville Mega Caverns, and many other awesome museums in downtown.
