Where are their major recent immigrant communities.

For Eastern Europeans I know for Russians there are large communities in New York City, Florida, and LA, Poles in Chicago, and Bosnians in St. Louis.

For Western Europeans there are some Brits in Florida and a small community in Santa Monica.
There are Irish in Boston.
I noticed small numbers of Italians from Italy in SF's North Beach but fairly small in numbers.
Not sure about French and Germans even though those are major countries.

Bosnians in Utica NY make up about 10% of that city's population. I believe some are in Waterloo IA, which is a similar city to Utica in size and demographics.

Immigrants or German Americans?

Statistic wise it seems most Europeans immigrants are either from the UK or Eastern Europe but none Continental Western Europe is fairly low.

southern Westchester and parts of Nassau still has some Italian, I imagine pockets of outer boro NYC has them, too. I heard a customer talk to the cashier in a pizzeria in Pelham [southern Westchester], NY. Both Westchester and Staten Island are at about 2.5% speak Italian, maybe the highest counties in the country? Brooklyn has a higher total number of Italian speakers, but % is lower.

Wow, you're missing the MAJOR immigre communities of San Francisco (one of the first), Seattle, and more recently: Sacramento and Walnut Creek, CA

There are big Romanian communities in CA, MI, NY and Ohio, as well. There's even a small Romanian community in Santa Fe, NM.

I've only been to Sacramento briefly but I did notice Russians in Berkeley and Walnut Creek. I've only met a small handful of Romanians in California.
