I guess youth is loosely used here but other than maybe NYC, in what places in the US would you say it is common for people in the 25-35 age range to:

1. Avoid family life.

2. Still socialize and make new friends.

3. Live more of the bachelor and somewhat social lifestyle of the college years.

I live in the south right now and it seems like if you are not married after 25, you become a social outcast.

I would say, most large cities. I've lived in the Midwest for years, and most young people I know, haven't married until their mid-30s. These are all college graduates, and I think they tend to marry later, everywhere. Of all the young people I know, none have been married as young as 25....none.

I agree most major cities fit that bill. You might see some exceptions in some of the larger cities in the Midwest and South but otherwise it's pretty common not to see elsewhere.

One can actually look this up, if they take the time. There really aren't huge differences in one region vs. another, and average ages of women and men, vary only by a couple of years in most states. There are exceptions, but even those aren't drastic. SO, whether a man gets married at 27, 28, 29, or 30, does that difference really constitute much of anything?
