Indeed. While Atlanta is infamous for its occasionally paralyzing snowstorns, it doesn't get nearly as miserable in the summertime as most of the rest of the country believes. For 6-8 months out of the year, weather in North Georgia is remarkably pleasant.
And in many cases, the "paralysis" is due to lack of preparation as opposed to the amount of actual winter precipitation.
I have to laugh at the people naming places like North Georgia, Cincinnati, and Portland; these places are far from mild in winter, so the fact that they are being named shows that Americans have no idea what moderate weather truly entails.

And the CA coast was listed as an exception to this thread. So that leaves Seattle, Portland, Cincinnati, Nashville, and perhaps Atlanta to reach the parameters.

After years on this forum and you still haven't figured out that your idea of pleasant weather does not align with the ideas of the majority of people here? Places like New Orleans and Houston are considered 'moderate' by very, very few people.
To the average person a mild winter does not mean 'snow once every ten years', it means snow that happens up a few times a year with little to no accumulation with a few days or weeks with temps that might dip below freezing. Read the thread title.
