Well I was going to say Intercourse is ironic because the population is decreasing, so there can't be much of it happening.

Having intercourse doesn't mean you will get pregnant, there are such a thing as contraceptives.

Ironically, the city prohibits doorbells and mandates the use of door knockers only.

Ironically, all children in Intercourse are the product of artificial insemination.

Ironically, this town works on a completely cashless basis through the use of the barter system.

Ironically, these folks always have good, and specific reasons for everything.

Ironically, this city is comprised of a bunch of liars who always seem to get away with it.
Yes the city has to have a name that goes against what it is, for instance in the example I gave there is a city called battle ground, despite there never being one. Or Pacific, which is no where near the Pacific ocean.

Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. PA is not part of NJ (clearly) and is a landlocked state. Close to the ocean, but not on it. The Jersey Shore is a term describing 130 miles of coastline in NJ yet 4000 people in PA over 100 miles from the NJ border call the term home.

People are mistaking coincidence with irony.

The only this thread does is demonstrate that most people don't know the actual definition of irony....

It's not a very good example, but Las Vegas means the meadow in Spanish despite it being in the middle of the desert, however originally that area was an oasis with several natural springs and a lot of grass grew there, but now that has been destroyed and all traces of that meadow are gone.
