There's probably a cool, uncool and an indifference category..

to your list, I would think you could add Jacksonville, VA Beach, Wilmington, Winston-Salem, Sacramento, Reno, Omaha, Tulsa, Des Moines.....

I think it's "uncool" to list cities that are "uncool." Every city holds something for someone....honestly, how dare anyone, judge where someone has chosen to live.

it's a forum that discusses all aspects of cities..... no need to play your moral card. Like you said, this is cyclical so what's uncool today could be cool tomorrow.

Cities that are "uncool" or "not hip" are cities like Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Louisville, Minneapolis and etc.
Pittsburgh and Minneapolis are among the cool kids. Louisville is somewhere in-between.

Dallas and Charlotte are definitely hip places.

I know where you're going with this, and I'm pretty much known for coming down on cities like Charlotte and Dallas when it comes to that; but when it comes to Millenials and what we find "cool" I don't that should be taken highly over anything else.

I just don't see how Pittsburgh is "cool," personally speaking.

Yeah if millennials are only wannabe Hipsters; cities like Pittsburgh and Minneapolis only cater to a few.

Take out Memphis, Birmingham, Detroit, and Cleveland and there you go.
Memphis, Birmingham, Detroit and Cleveland are blue collar cities and were never considered cool

I would agree. They have their charm and their history but aren't exactly places that young people are flocking to or even are indifferent to.

You must don't get out much; all of those cities have the Cultural Amenities, History, Scenery, Festivals, Urban Culture, Hipster Significance, Location and etc.

I consider Detroit "cooler" than a city like Portland.
