Do you think it will continue to grow as a major jobs city/tech city?
No, despite all the love for it shown on this thread, the winters are awful, and the landscape is pretty flat and boring, not only there but for hundreds of miles around. There is some nice scenery up around Duluth and in the Black Hills, but that's about the extent of it between there and Denver, 914 miles away.

The weather is a barrier for a lot of people. Heck, Denver has a wussie (though long) winter and some people think their winter is too extreme. It's nothing compared to Mpls. Coldest day of the year in Denver-December 30, 42/20. Coldest day in Mpls-January 22, 24/9. Note that on Mpls' coldest day, the high is about the same as the low in Denver on its coldest day. Note also these are averages.

Phoenix actually offers quite a bit of water recreation. There are a lot of fairly large lakes in the metro.

Lake Pleasant
Bartlett Lake
Canyon Lake
Apache Lake
Roosevelt Lake
The Salt River

So far I've thought of
Denver
Seattle

I'm sure there are many others ?
Pittsburgh. Duolingo, Google, and Uber. Most scenic non-coastal city in the United States.
